Amanda believes the relationship you create with your four legged partner is a special bond formed from the same fundamentals no matter the species; teamwork and trust.
Amanda has been training and competing in the agility world since 2009, but her history of working alongside animal companions goes back decades. Growing up on a farm, she started riding horses at an early age. Amanda rode various disciplines but ultimately had a dream of Winning a World Championship and succeeded in 2014. Through years of hard work and perseverance, Amanda and her equine partner, Frosty, took home not one, but TWO World Championships, and a Reserve Championship at the American Paint Horse Association World Horse Show.
Amanda still owns and enjoys riding horses, but has switched her drive to her canine partners. Today, her focus remains steady in furthering her training and agility career. Amanda's journey started in 2009 when Voodoo, a rescue American Staffordshire Terrier, joined the family. Amanda and Voodoo entered the agility world, and never looked back. Together they were successful in earning multiple titles, awards and Top Ten placement for her breed multiple years in a row. A pillar for Amanda's program and love for the sport, Voodoo now enjoys retirement. Amanda is currently competing with her Border Collie, Axel, whom she acquired as a puppy and has trained from the ground up. 2020 brought one more member to the Brandenburg pack, another Border Collie, rescued as a puppy, now affectionately known as Sway. Sway recently started her competition career and is excelling in many venues including making FINALS at the 2022 US OPEN. It was her first big event and the skills Amanda has trained with Sway really showed. Amanda is very excited about their future together in and out of the agility ring!
The passion and skill Amanda has shown working with her own dogs, has not gone unnoticed by fellow peers and instructors. Amanda has worked hard to better herself as a student, team mate and now instructor and coach attending agility camps, seminars, and working alongside some of the top coaches and handlers not only in the United States, but worldwide.
She officially began teaching in 2016. In 2018, Amanda became a Certified OneMind Dogs Instructor for Handling Techniques 1 and in 2019 became a Certified OneMind Dogs Instructor for Foundations. Amanda chose OneMind Dogs because she truly believes in the OneMind Dogs method and teaching agility from the persepctive of the dog making handling easier and more natural for our four legged friends!

As a handler in agility Amanda loves to push herself out of her comfort zone and reach for the stars. She wants to be the best teammate for her dog in every way possible on and off the agility field. “It is an incredible journey we have with each dog and I want to have as much fun with them as I can. I love to learn, have fun, and train new things on a daily basis. I think every day presents us with new opportunities to learn something. The more we learn, the more knowledge we can have on and off the course.”
As an instructor Amanda enjoys working with all types of students whether it is just for fun or for competition. “I love watching my students have fun with their dogs while building a relationship and becoming a team.
She is committed to providing positive training and a fun environment for her students and their dogs. She loves to motivate and encourage her students to be the best they can be. “It is such an awesome moment for me as an instructor when my students have that "moment" when they thought they couldn't do something and they DO IT! I enjoy teaching all levels and motivation of dogs and handlers. Agility is all about having FUN with your dog.
